Stan Nze wins the Septimius Award for ‘Best African Actor’ in 2022.

The Septimius Awards took place on June 6-7, 2022. The Panel Discussions took place on Monday, June 6th, and the Award Ceremony took place on Tuesday, June 7th, 2022 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The Septimius Awards are a distinguished award event that focuses on discovering and nurturing emerging independent talent, supporting innovative films, and uniting all aspects of filmmaking and storytelling, including fiction, non-fiction, animation, television shows, and screenwriting. From drama to documentary, it features a diverse spectrum of genres. Emmy and Oscar winners like Christopher Hampton and Kevin Willmott are among those who attended the award event.

This year for his act in “Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story,” Stan Nze, a Nollywood star and the current winner of the AMVCA Best Actor in a Drama award, won the Best African Actor award. This prize was also nominated for Bryan Okoye and Michael Uchegbu.

Nze was nominated alongside seven other South African and Nigerian actors, including Thabo Rametsi from Netflix’s “Silverton Siege.” Ramsey Nouah directed and Play Network Studios produced remade ‘Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story,’ and the actor won the award for playing the main character.Osas Ighodaro, who played a supporting role in the film, was also honored at the European awards. For her work in the 2020 film, the actress was nominated for ‘Best African Actress,’ but lost to Nqobile Khumalo of South Africa.
