Austria’s public security director, Franz Ruf, reported that chemical substances and technical devices were discovered at the residence of a 19-year-old Austrian man who had recently pledged allegiance to the Islamic State, according to ORF’s Oe1 program.
Event organizers stated, “Due to confirmation of a planned terrorist attack at the Ernst Happel Stadium by government officials, we must cancel the three scheduled shows for safety reasons.” The cancellation comes after a knife attack in Southport, UK, where three young girls were killed and eight others injured. The organizers have announced that all ticket buyers will be automatically refunded.
