Although Taylor Swift was nominated for a maiden Golden Globe Award, she was not present at the event this evening.

The 80th annual Golden Globe Awards, which were hosted at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, seemed to be missed by the singer of “Anti-Hero.” For her track “Carolina” from Where the Crawdads Sing, she was nominated for an award in the category of Best Original Song. She joins other candidates Lady Gaga and Rihanna, who received nods for their songs “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and “Hold My Hand” from Top Gun: Maverick, respectively. The winning writers for “Naatu Naatu” in the movie RRR were Kala Bhairava, M. M. Keeravani, and Rahul Sipligunj.

So, where was Swift? Though she has been preoccupied with promoting her tenth studio album, Midnights, the singer has yet to openly address her absence. During her press tour, she made a bejeweled presence at the MTV Video Music Awards, a surprise appearance at the American Music Awards, and a series of showy media interviews. To put it simply, Blondie may be taking a well-deserved sabbatical.
