Swift who is currently on tour with her sold out Eras Tour was initially linked to the British actor in 2016. “It was not dramatic,” the insider told the outlet. “The relationship had just run its course. It’s why [Alwyn] hasn’t been spotted at any shows.”

They initially kept their relationship secret, only making occasional public appearances. Several fans believe Swift has dedicated a number of songs to her and Alwyn’s relationship, which include those from her Eras Tour lineup. Swift revealed via Instagram in January that “Lavender Haze,” a tune from her 2022 album “Midnights,” is about Alwyn, claiming that when you’re in a lavender haze of love, “you’ll do anything to stay there and not let people bring you down off of that cloud.”

Alwyn (under the pseudonym William Bowery) was also given writing credit for the song “Sweet Nothing” on “Midnights” including a number of songs from Swift’s 2020 pandemic-era albums “folklore” and “evermore.”

In the same year, Swift revealed Alwyn’s real identity in the Disney+ documentary “folklore: the long pond studio sessions.” Alwyn’s first Grammy victory came in 2021 with “Folklore,” which went on to win album of the year. “Joe is the first person that I play every single song that I write, and I had the best time writing songs with you in quarantine,” Swift said in a Grammys acceptance speech.

Swift and Alwyn haven’t explicitly acknowledged their breakup.
