Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have announced their mutual decision to end their four-year marriage on their respective Instagram accounts, marking a significant departure from their previous relationship.
“After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage,”the message states. “There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”
According to People, Jonas filed for divorce from the Game of Thrones actor, citing the marriage as irretrievably broken. The couple has a prenuptial agreement in place. The news follows rumors about their relationship, including Jonas wearing his wedding ring during a concert in Austin, Texas.
The couple, who have two daughters, were married in 2019 at a chateau in Provence, France, attended by Priyanka Chopra and Maisie Williams. They also had a smaller wedding in Las Vegas. They were first linked in 2016 and got engaged when Turner was 21. In 2019, Turner expressed her belief that finding the right person is easier than finding the right person. They have two daughters together.
