She has returned. The world’s most prolific multi-hyphenate made a red carpet comeback that demonstrated that fashion is still very much a top priority after announcing her long-awaited return to music with the lead single from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Along with her partner A$AP Rocky, Lupita Nyong’o, Michaela Coel, and Danai Gurira, she is a part of the Black Panther cast. Rihanna choose a strong-looking Rick Owens dress. The hopeful atmosphere fit with the themes of the film trilogy and was taken from the designer’s poetic, elegiac autumn/winter 2022 collection, which revealed a softer side to his anarchic vision.
The diva strolled the red carpet in a green-gray strapless sequined dress with contrast stitching in cornflower blue denim all around. Additionally, the distinctive evening gown had a delicate train and stunning asymmetrical draping that swept around her waist. She added accessories including a bejeweled ear cuff, gray heeled sandals, and slouchy opera gloves in a cream tint.
Naturally, Rocky matched his outfit to that of Rihanna, showcasing his own sense of fashion in the process. The rapper sported a black T-shirt, baggy jeans, and a jacket made entirely of gray denim on denim. The singer of “Love on the Brainoutfit “‘s had a tiny train on the back of his jeans to match. He completed the look with white stud earrings and gray sneakers.
The pop star provided a sneak glimpse of her comeback track, “Lift Me Up,” on Twitter after Marvel revealed that Rihanna would compose the score for the upcoming Black Panther film. Rihanna hums along to instrumental music in the 14-second clip. Today marks the release of the single, her first in six years.
