Princess Kate surprised fans with a surprise appearance in a video celebrating Team Great Britain’s achievements at the Paris 2024 Olympics (Snoop Dogg, the unofficial spokesperson of the games, also made a cameo appearance) on Sunday. She wore a gold eternity band lined with white diamonds and sapphires instead of her engagement ring, a more casual alternative to the royal’s iconic sapphire-and-diamond engagement ring from Prince William, which belonged to his late mother, Princess Diana. The rest of her outfit included a Breton shirt—a nod to the host country and its rich fashion history.
The new band is reminiscent of the promise ring William gave Kate when they were college students at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Kate’s birthstone, garnets, and William’s birthstone, pearls, adorned the rose gold Victorian band. It is speculated that Kate received her eternity band from William for their 13th wedding anniversary on April 29, as this is the first time we have seen it
In the video, Kate sports a white and black striped top from Ralph Lauren while William, beside her, rocks a light blue Team Great Britain polo shirt. “From all of us watching at home, congratulations to Team GB,” Kate Middleton said as William, who stands behind her chimes in, “Well done on all you have achieved,” commending the athletes. “
