The New Year is off to a fashionable start for the Princess of Wales.
As part of a solo visit, Princess Kate visited the Early Years Alliance-run Foxcubs Nursery in London today. The nursery provides positions for families that qualify for free childcare, caring for children between the ages of two and five. Kate, a longtime advocate for the early years, spoke with teachers, parents, and kids about their experiences during her visit.
The Princess of Wales has made promoting the value of early childhood her hallmark cause for more than ten years, and this trip is another step in that direction. In an opinion piece she published for The Telegraph in November of last year, Kate stressed the need of building a “healthier and happier society for future generations.”
“If we are going to tackle the sorts of complex challenges we face today like homelessness, violence and addiction, which are so often underpinned by poverty and poor mental health, we have to fully appreciate those most preventative years and do everything we can to nurture our children and those who care for them,” she wrote.
