Duchess Meghan opted for a significant yellow dress at a reception concluding her trip to Nigeria. During her visit to the State Governor House in Lagos on Mother’s Day, she exuded elegance in a striking sleeveless gown designed by Carolina Herrera. This flowing silk dress holds sentimental value, as Meghan previously wore it in 2020 to celebrate Prince Archie’s first birthday and in 2021 to announce her pregnancy with Princess Lilibet.

Nigeria’s Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa OFR, and Governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, hosted the event. Upon their arrival, the governor’s wife adorned Meghan with an aso-oke, a woven indigenous shawl symbolizing wealth, featuring white and yellow stripes. Meghan completed her look with a nude slingback leather sandal and gold hammered disc earrings from Jennifer Meyer, a gold AURATE collar necklace, and a stack of gold bangle bracelets.

Prior to the event, Meghan selected another maxi skirt aso oke iteration (this time made of white and blue striped, a hand-woven material). She paired her indeginous skirt a white button-down shirt from Caroline Herrera with rolled sleeves, metallic heels, a gold pendant necklace, and black square sunglasses.

The duo were first welcomed at the Lagos airport with an acrobatic dance performance, then supported the nonprofit Giants of Africa on a basketball court at Ilupeju Senior Grammar School. Walking in hand with Meghan, Prince Harry wore a white button-down shirt and brown slacks, tan suit jacket, suede loafers, and black shades, completing the ensemble.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have recently made an exciting announcement regarding a new partnership between their esteemed Archewell Foundation and Giants of Africa, a remarkable charity that utilizes the power of basketball to empower and engage young individuals. This collaboration aims to create a profound impact on the lives of countless young people, providing them with opportunities for growth, development, and inspiration.

Giants of Africa, under the exceptional leadership of its Vice-Chairman and President, the esteemed ex-NBA star Masai Ujiri, has been tirelessly working towards uplifting communities and fostering positive change through the sport of basketball. The charity’s commitment to empowering young individuals, particularly in underserved areas, has garnered immense admiration and respect from individuals across the globe.

In expressing his heartfelt gratitude, Masai Ujiri acknowledges the unwavering dedication and passion displayed by Meghan Markle and her husband, despite the challenges they face as they continue to be away from their families. This profound commitment to making a difference in the lives of others is truly commendable and serves as an inspiration to all.
