Kate turned to tried-and-true wardrobe essentials for the engagement in Merseyside, including a tartan Holland & Cooper coat that she had previously worn to plant a tree at Westminster Abbey in honor of Queen Elizabeth II in December 2022 and to meet a war veteran in November 2021. The princess accessorized the checkered outerwear with a blue knit dress that she had previously been spotted wearing and a forest green Mulberry Amberley purse.
William, meanwhile, was dressed in a navy pair of pants, a blue blazer, a green sweater layered over a light blue collared shirt, and dark brown suede shoes.

Only a few days before to the most recent trip of the Prince and Princess of Wales, it was made public that William was “seething” about Harry’s biography. According to Katie Nicholl, a royal specialist, Will is “incredibly angry with the level of detail” Harry disclosed about personal family affairs in the book. Nicholl made this revelation while appearing with Entertainment Tonight. Tom Bower, a royal author, asserts that Kate is also said to be “outraged and hurt” by Harry’s accusations against her.
