There is mutual admiration between Dua Lipa and Trevor Noah.
During Noah’s debut on the singer’s iHeartRadio show Dua Lipa: At Your Service, the pop diva and the comedian exchanged compliments. The couple was romantically linked after being seen out together in NYC, and the episode was released on Friday.
The host of The Daily Show with Trevor Noah thought back on his connection with the “New Rules” singer and street style icon throughout the discussion.
“I said to my friend one day, ‘Every time I see Dua Lipa, it’s at an award show. So, now that means if I see her, my life is going well,'” he said. “Now I just hope to see her more so that it means my life is going exceptionally well.”
“You’ve always been really wonderful and gracious,” he added, addressing the podcast host. “You’ve always been a really wonderful light, just in the spaces that everybody’s in.”
After reading the comedian’s 2016 memoir, Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood, Lipa said she wanted to bring him onto the program. The two also discussed how they first learned about each other’s work.
She ended the conversation by saying, “It’s been a real pleasure talking to you and getting to know you a little bit more beyond the book as well.”
Though speculation over the couple’s relationship status has persisted, Lipa herself has made it clear that she has relished being single. The “Don’t Start Now” singer said that over the last year, she has put more of an emphasis on herself during her interview with Charli XCX for the podcast’s episode from October 7.
