Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are engaged again, following their much-publicized reconciliation during the pandemic. On April 8, J-Lo verified the rumors in her newsletter, On The JLo, by releasing a video of her emerld/green diamond ring with her followers while crying.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were photographed looking for a store property in Santa Monica on Friday, just hours before they announced their engagement. This is the couple’s second engagement, with the previous being in 2002. They broke up in 2004, but reunited in 2021. J.Lo donned a striped long sleeve t-shirt with bell bottom jeans for their casual date. Her hair was pulled back into a bun, and she wore aviator sunglasses.
Whereas emeralds have grown in favor among brides-to-be in recent years a green-hued diamond is especially unique — it is one of the rarest forms of beautiful diamond.
She did mention the green Versace gown she wore to the Grammy Awards in 2000 in her newsletter, writing, “I always say the color green is my lucky color. Maybe you can remember a certain green dress. I’ve realized there are many moments in my life where amazing things happened when I was wearing green.”
In the early 2000s, Affleck famously proposed to Versace’s poster girl with a pink six-carat Harry Winston diamond ring, but the couple called off their engagement. “Due to the excessive media attention surrounding our wedding, we have decided to postpone the date,” the pair revealed in a joint statement issued in 2004. “When we found ourselves seriously contemplating hiring three separate ‘decoy brides’ at three different locations, we realised that something was awry.”
