Ini Dima-Okojie is Nigerian born actor, a native of Edo State, Nigeria. She grew up in Lagos. She is the last child of four other siblings. Ini describes herself as a “feminist, a performer, a loving friend, a liberal thinker and just someone who wants everyone to be a themselves.

Ini Dima-Okojie is not married. Although her name is hyphenated – it has nothing to do with marriage. According to her, it’s actually a family name – a compound name. her grandfather added his name to their last name and it stuck ever since.

Ini Dima-Okojie obtained her international relations degree from Covenant University and took an acting course at the New York Film Academy and also attended the “Become A Host” bootcamp in Los Angeles

Before her rise to fame Ini was an investment banker at Cardinal Supreme Partners. Surprisingly resigned from her job in the finance industry to pursue a career in entertainment. She describes it as her most nerve-wracking experience ever. “It took me a long time to finally put in my resignation letter but then, you know how you have this dream and its tugging in your heart …….”

Her break out role as Hadiza in ‘North East’ launched her into the spotlight which got her two nominations for Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the 2017 Nigeria Entertainment Awards and Most Promising Actress at City People Movie Awards.

Ini went to New York Film Academy wanting to get professional training. According to her “I didn’t just want to be reckoned among those who just popped up on the screen and started acting…”

The actress had her mums backing decision to dump banking for acting but her dad couldn’t just understand why she would leave stability for something unpredictable like the arts. She admits being scared, prayed and consulted her pastor before making the move.
