The glazed donut beauty craze first started with skin, then and now we’re swooning over chocolate glazed donut nails, which is the latest variation. It still has the same sparkle of a Krispy Kreme doughnut, except this time the foundation color is a delicious chocolate rather than a milky pink or nude.
The look was created by Hailey Bieber, a beauty icon who also gave us glazed donut skin in January and the original glazed donut nails last month – the hashtag #glazeddonutnails has received more than 79 million views on TikTok, and the video showcasing it racked up more than six million views in just two days.
As the colder months approach, many people would naturally go toward a fall red, but chocolate-glazed donut nails offers a more intriguing option because of its subdued tones and multilayered topcoat.
Celebrity nail artist Zola Ganzorigt used a light caramel brown and an opalescent topcoat to create Hailey’s look. This glaze finish gives the base color more depth and makes it appear nearly golden in certain lighting.
To get the delicate, iridescent finish, Zola often uses OPI Chrome Effects in Tin Man May from the brand’s professional line. However, for those curious to recreate the look, there are several at-home products that can produce a similar effect: Nails Inc What The Shell on top of your chosen chocolate shade.
