On May 15, Doja Cat received the top R&B artist, best R&B female artist, top viral song, and top R&B album awards at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards. Her Schiaparelli black gown and gold accessories, which she wore to the awards presentation, also left us speechless.
Her makeup artist, Ernesto Casillas, gave her a neutral smokey eye with a dab of vivid yellow on the inner crease and waterline, which complemented her bold ensemble flawlessly. Jared Henderson (a.k.a. JStay Ready) whipped her black hair into a high ponytail with a flipped end, which we’re sure was a lot of fun to play with.
Doja Cat usually goes for long nails, but she kept them short for this look. Saccia created a basic look by painting her rounded nails with Bare My Soul, a pale pink OPI Nail Polish. However, because this lavish jewelry is essentially nail art, this manicure is far from simple.The ring on her middle finger was the largest, covering the entirety of her finger and nail. Except for two enormous baby blue stones, the ring is primarily gold. The ring grows into a golden nail considerably longer than Doja Cat’s. The other two rings were far less complicated, which is significant. Her thumb and index finger had two golden nail rings wrapped around them.
Rather than the swirled lines or marbled effects you’re used to seeing, this style shows how nail art can literally be jewelry.
