Cut creases has been a very cool look for beauty enthusiasts. The look features distinct line that “cuts” at the crease to add extra depth and contouring around the lid. Notwithstanding it’s sameness, makeup artist Ana Takahashi was able to reimagined the shape by flipping its style on the head. The beauty look has take n over IG and quickly become a widespread trend.

Takahashi had originally posted her smoked out version of the cut crease for her 80,000 Instagram followers to see. The UK-based makeup artist placed the bulk of the eyeshadow above the cut crease – as opposed to the standard clean brow bone (adding an edge to the popular shape).

Underneath the dark brown cut crease, Ana placed a white shadow on the inner lid and blended the brown hue on the remaining gut eye. Using the same brown eye shadow above the crease close to the inner corner she then applied white shadow on the brow bone. She also blended out the dark brown shadow on her lid into a cat eye shape.

The makeup was so good that other artists have recreated the trend using different colours. In fact, Freja Herman a Denmark based content creator switched out the white eye shadow for a minty green. Like the original Freja used the Kaleidos Makeup Futurism III: asho pink palette to cut her crease and create the smoked brown line. She swiped the mint hue from the Beauty Bay’s the pastel palette on her lid and brow bone. She then completed herook with false eyelashes, full coverage complexion products, and a matte peach lipstick.
