There are several types of red carpet hairstyles, but Lily James’ intricate up-do at this week’s Fashion Awards was in a class of its own.
Her sculptured hairdo, which was half braid and part bow and completely original, allowed her sparkling Rodarte gown to steal the show just as much as the front party.
It was the creation of famous hairdresser Halley Brisker, whose designs effortlessly straddle the avant garde and the wearable while remaining elevated. A third element, in addition to the vertical baby braid and structured bow, gives the actress’s hairstyle a dreamy yet directional look in this instance. These two extremely straight sections emerge from the updo like chopsticks (remember that Japanese-inspired craze that swept the nation in the 1990s?). The hairdo is ideal for the occasion since it simultaneously reads “fashion” and “fairytale.”
However, he adds, “you could swap this out for a velvet bow clip for ease – perfect for party season!” Brisker created the style using Ghd equipment and hair extensions to build the bow.
The Fashion Awards 2022: Every Glamorous Look
Being a Charlotte Tilbury muse, James’ makeup focused on a straightforward, neutral color scheme for balance and featured three brand-new items. She introduced the K.i.s.s.i.ng lipstick in Nude Talk and the Lip Cheat liner in the traditional shade Pillow Talk for her caramel-nude pout. Valeria Ferreira, a makeup artist, utilized the brand’s Beautifying Face Palette in Fair/Medium, Hollywood Highlighter Gilded Glow, and Hollywood Contour Wand in Light to Medium to enhance her complexion.
