Kaia Gerber attended her very first Met Gala in a gorgeous black gown by Oscar de la Renta inspired by Bianca Jagger’s 1981 Met Gala look, created by legendary New York designer Halston.
Like Jaggers, Gerber’s gown featured a strapless floor length black gown featuring floral detailing around the neckline. The 18 year old top model completed her look wearing her hair in similar Jagger-esque waves – side parted, courtesy of Guido Palau – her hair stylist who’s been responsible for some of the model’s most dramatic hair transformations in the past.
With the theme of this years MET Gala In America: A Lexicon of Fashion – Gerber no doubt showcased her indepth knowledge of fashion history through her designer interpret.
Like mother and daughter, her supermodel mom Cindy Crawford has had a number of her own major Met Gala fashion moments, one being a sexy satin blue number the model wore back in 2009 and a bombshell red Versace gown in 2018.
