For as long as I can remember American supermodel and new mommy Gigi Hadid has always been beach blonde. During her entire pregnancy with first child Khai (whom she shares with Zayn) went darker but eventually transitioning into copper where she walked the Versace’s fall 2021 spring show with the hair hue of the year.
But it seems Gigi can’t seem to get enough of the red hair (I know I wouldn’t) and making it her signature hair color. Hadid showed off her blazing red hair in a selfie posted to Instagram on Sunday.
She captioned the picture with “city limit.” Against a backdrop of blue New York skies Gigi posed wearing a black oversized jacket with a black beanie leaving her red hair open cascading in soft waves, with the sunlight illuminating her bare face and rich hair colour.
Fans and friends were sure show their love in the comments section: Queer Eye‘s Jonathan Van Ness wrote, “Prettyyyyyyyy😍😍😍😍😍,” and up-and-coming model Natalie Bryant added, “love it!!!😍🔥”
In a recent interview with i-D, the supermodel gave a glimpse of her thought – how she had been thinking critically about the color of her skin and the privileges it has gotten her. And the effort she and Zayn Malik are putting in raising their daughter Khai.
“In certain situations, I feel—or I’m made to feel—that I’m too white to stand up for part of my Arab heritage. You go through life trying to figure out where you fit in racially,” she said in an interview. “Is what I am, or what I have, enough to do what I feel is right? But then, also, is that taking advantage of the privilege of having the whiteness within me, right? Am I allowed to speak for this side of me, or is that speaking on something that I don’t experience enough to know?”
