Kim Kardashian possesses a treasure trove of vintage pieces that would leave any fashion lover salivating—a white corset from Mugler’s spring 1998 couture collection, an iconic outfit donned by Janet Jackson in the 1993 hit “If,” and of course, the infamous Marilyn Monroe Met Gala gown.
But this weekend yielded another vintage trophy—one of Princess Diana’s iconic necklaces, which she wore to the 2024 LACMA Art + Film Gala, marking the first public donation of the piece since the princess’s death. On full display, Kardashian wore one of the royal’s most famous accessories, a white Gucci gown with a plunging neckline and a dramatic cut.
The necklaces included a chunky pearl choker, pearl collar necklace, and the late princess’s “Attallah Cross” pendant, made by Garrard. The cross necklace, adorned with square-cut amethysts and circular diamonds, served as the centerpiece, incorporating Diana’s own aesthetic.
Kardashian completed her outfit with a stunning ivory cape-style coat that elegantly cascaded off her shoulders, adding a touch of sophistication to her ensemble. Embracing the vintage vibes of her look, she opted for a chic mid-length bob hairstyle with flipped ends, effortlessly framing her face. A single curl delicately brushed across her forehead added a whimsical touch to her overall appearance.
Her makeup was on point, with a nude lip gloss enhancing her natural beauty, while a shimmery purple eyeshadow brought a pop of color that perfectly complemented her violet pendant.
Princess Diana’s Attallah cross, created in the 1920s by Garrard, was worn at a charity gala in London in 1987. The pendant, made of gold, silver, amethyst, and diamonds, was loaned to her by businessman and writer Naim Attallah, who wore it with a Catherine Walker gown. Fast forward to last year, when Kardashian snagged the Attallah cross at auction for about £150,000 ($197,453), making it her debut bid on royal family jewelry.
