Angelina Jolie Channels Old Hollywood in Stunning ’50s Bridal Dress

It’s common knowledge by now that Angelina Jolie adores a trench coat and black maxi dress, along with greige knits as a go-to everyday outfit. When it comes to evening wear, she typically sticks to a neutral color scheme, opting for an LBD or a white gown.

And for the New York premiere of Maria, the biography about Greek opera singer Maria Callas directed by Pablo Larraín, Jolie went with the latter choice. The actress wore a vintage gown by Madame Grès from Mon Vintage in Paris. The dress, dating back to 1956, showcased Grès’s iconic draping technique. Jolie accessorized with Cartier jewelry and heels, exuding a modern vibe on the red carpet. Mon Vintage founder Marie Blanchet revealed that Jolie personally selected the gown from their Paris showroom.

Jolie brought three of her six children to the premiere: Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, and Maddox, 23. Zahara wore a white halter slipdress with a V neckline, similar to her mother’s, and accessorized with pearls. Maddox looked sharp in a classic black suit and tie, while Pax, who is pursuing a career in film, rocked a stylish gray suit with a plaid pattern and black sunglasses.

Directed by the talented Pablo Larraín, “Maria” is a captivating biographical drama centered around the iconic opera singer Maria Callas, portrayed brilliantly by the talented Jolie.
