Princes William and Harry Steer Clear of Each Other at Funeral

The ongoing rift between Prince Harry and Prince William was evident at their uncle Lord Robert Fellowes’s funeral. Despite both brothers attending the service at St. Mary’s Church in Snettisham, Norfolk, England, they sat separately and avoided each other entirely. Lord Fellowes, Princess Diana’s brother-in-law, passed away on July 29 at the age of 82.

Harry’s unexpected attendance at the funeral was surprising, given his security concerns in the UK. The rift between him and his brother, William, began after Harry married Meghan Markle in 2018, and worsened when they stepped back as senior royals in 2020. Their decision to speak out publicly about the royal family further strained their relationship.

The most recent public reunion between Harry and William took place in May 2023, during their father King Charles III’s coronation. Despite being at the same major event, the brothers did not appear to interact with each other.

Earlier this year, Harry made a trip to England upon hearing of Charles’ cancer diagnosis. However, even during this visit, there was no meeting between Harry and William. The strained relationship between the two brothers seems to persist, with missed opportunities for reconciliation.
