Hollywood guests, including Janelle Monáe, Lupita Nyong’o, and Issa Rae, attended the premiere of Beyoncé’s Renaissance: A Film at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater. The three-hour film, which documented Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour, features live performances and behind-the-scenes footage from earlier concerts.
According to Variety, invitations with the time and dress code, “cozy opulence,” withholding the location until just 24 hours before the screening. And despite some accounts suggesting she entered the event surreptitiously, Beyoncé walked the silver carpet, perfectly capturing the essence of the night’s concept.
Beyoncé looked stunning in a shimmering liquid silver Versace gown and matching latex silver gloves. She wore a minimal beauty look with a light sprinkling of silver eye shadow and waist-length ice blonde hair. Donatella Versace also praised the star on Instagram, quoting “I’m That Girl” from Renaissance. With another premiere set for London on Thursday, Beyoncé’s Beyhive is looking forward to more surprise appearances and glittering gowns, with the dress code for the London event being “formal opulence.”
The film, set to release in the US, Canada, and Mexico, follows Beyoncé’s “Reniassance” tour, which drew 2.7 million fans and will be filmed from May 10 to October 1.
