With its Escape 2023 Capsule Collection, VALENTINO has revived classic Valentino designs in vivacious colours. The collection includes mini dresses and flowing silhouette with the Animalier, Panther, Loop motifs. Valentino Garavani accessories include studded wrap-up sandals, bold eyewear made with Akoni, and mainstay bags with storied prints.
The classic jaguar pattern, which debuted in 1967, is honored in the Valentino Animalier line. Swimwear, caftans, and translucent coverups all have the jaguar print. The pattern has been adapted into Valentino Garavani handbags, VLogo Signature heels, and flats, making a statement from several perspectives.
It also features the Valentino Panther print, featuring black panthers and green jade. Originally introduced in the 1967-68 Haute Couture Fall/Winter collection, the panther gained popularity after being photographed by Franco Rubartelli. The print is now worn in two-piece beach looks, sequin-embroidered tops, off-the-shoulder dresses, and on scarves and beach towels, making it instantly wearable.
Finally, Valentino’s Loop print, inspired by the 1971 Viva Valentino advertising campaign, features a hypnotic circular design with vibrant hues. This design effortlessly translates on crop tops, shorts, dresses, and clutches, reinforcing the Maison’s visual storytelling.
The campaign includes models Gibril Igale, Martina Biondino, and Yaz Yüceil, with Vilhelm Björndahl handling art direction, Elena Mora designing set design.
Designed with leisure in mind The Escape 2023 collection debuts with trips to desirable holiday destinations like St Tropez, Amalfi Coast, and Hamptons, allowing select invitees to immerse themselves in the world. Pieces from the collection are available at Saks Fifth Avenue.
