Nollywood couple Linda Ejiofor and husband, Ibrahim Suleiman tied the knot back in 2018 in a well attended celebrity wedding ceremony. So how did they meet? We’ve gathered a complete timeline of their relationship.
How did they meet
The couple met a few times randomly through mutual friends, mostly at events. “For some reasons she never remembered me” [thank God she did]. Both come from different parts of the country. While Linda Ejiofor is from Abia State, Ibrahim is from Auchi in Edo state – born and raised in Kaduna before moving to Abuja then to Lagos.
In an interview with Closeup the couple revealed “The conditioning and the upbringing, the lifestyle, it was just totally different background. And so I was a bit worried…that…you know Her parents would be uncomfortable with her being with a “Northerner” And she kept telling her parents are not like that and then I met her Dad and I was freaking out and I walked into the house and he actually said “Hi” to me in Hausa, like our first conversation was in Hausa and that was when I knew that, I mean, it felt like I was home.
Linda also felt worried during that period being the first girl in an Igbo African home, it is often presumed in Igbo tradition the first girl has to marry an Igbo guy. Knowing love was important, she wanted someone who she could spend the rest of her life with and have no regrets.
An important lesson they learnt via events leading to the family is important and if you’re important to your family those who are important to you become important to them.
Proposal
Always wanting her marriage to be beautiful even more than her parents [Suleiman] proposal was simple and sweet.
Traditional wedding
For the traditional wedding the bride made two appearance in two beautiful dresses from Purple Lagos. The groom wore a plain modern traditional attire paired with Okpu agu [a fez hat]
