Doja Cat outdid Kylie Jenner, who wore a faux severed lion head on her frock to Schiaparelli’s haute couture show in Paris, by emulating Avatar and donning head-to-toe crimson body paint. The singer posed outside wearing a crimson dress from the designer label with a beaded skirt.
Makeup artist Pat McGrath posted on Instagram about the steps she used to create the “Doja’s Inferno” beauty look, which was intended to assist simulate the feeling of a living sculpture watching the event from the front row.

“Collaborating with the incomparably talented Doja Cat and Daniel Roseberry was an absolute pleasure,” McGrath said. “Her patience and dedication as she sat with Team Pat McGrath and I for four hours and 58 minutes to achieve the creation, covered in over 30,000 hand-applied Swarovski crystals, was truly inspiring. The final product was a magical, mesmerizing masterpiece and a tribute to Doja Cat’s hard work and dedication.”
Doja Cat was decked up in crystals, a crimson silk faille bustier, and a hand-knit skirt made of lacquered wooden beads. The look was accentuated with trompe l’oeil toe boots.
Doja Cat has a history of daring fashion choices; in an interview with ELLE, she revealed that a middle school principal previously chastised her for wearing such garb. “He was like, ‘Get that crap off of your face. Nobody wants to see that. Why do you dress like this? What’s the point of dressing like this? You’re such a distraction,’” she said. “I never liked the way I looked. I didn’t feel like I fit in. I felt like I stuck out all the time, and I didn’t like it. It was a strange time.”
