After hearing that physicians are “concerned” about Queen Elizabeth‘s health, members of the royal family unexpectedly visited her Balmoral estate this morning. Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, was not, however, traveling to Scotland.
A source has provided an update on the Sussexes’ travel arrangements, despite earlier reports that Meghan will accompany husband Prince Harry on the trip.
Prince Andrew, Prince William, Prince Edward, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, Prince Charles, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and Sophie, Countess of Wessex are among the family members who have travelled to be at the queen’s side. Princess Anne, the daughter of the king, is already at Balmoral since she had appointments in Scotland.
In a statement earlier today on the monarch’s condition, Buckingham Palace stated,
“Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision.”
Britain’s prime minister, Liz Truss, wrote on Twitter, “The whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime. My thoughts – and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom – are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time.”
