Halsey donned a Tom Ford-era Gucci tank top and slinky pants with a mesh overlay earlier this week. This wasn’t your average commercial tank top during Ford’s time at the Italian firm. This was a one-of-a-kind, straight-off-the-runway work. A rayon-viscose clingy black tank top (also available in white) with two flossy leather straps fastened with a modernist silver G clasp is shown in this design from the spring/summer 1998 collection.
The garment was worn on the runway with a matching skirt that featured the same integrated leather straps. Lyn Alyson styled Halsey’s look, which was purchased from Hollywood vintage hotspot Tab Vintage.
Halsey’s recent debut in Tom Ford-era Gucci is part of a current wave of celebrity comebacks. Bella Hadid wore an exceedingly hard-to-find outfit from the autumn/winter 1996 collection at the Cannes Film Festival: a curve-skimming white dress with a cut-out at the waist that tastefully displayed a pair of underwear with a gold clasp. Of all, this isn’t the first time that celebrities have chosen Gucci’s saucy years. The Kardashian-Jenners made a stir on Instagram in 2018 wearing Tom Ford runway outfits. What about this Halsey moment, which will be followed by Hadid’s debut? Expect these collectibles to become even more difficult to come by.
