Victoria Beckham Takes Over The Jacquemus Show

Both fortunate and fixated, Victoria Beckham was grateful to be at the Jacquemus autumn/winter 2022 show was enamored with everything, from the social media opportunities the Provence salt mine venue provided to her to the new handbag line she debuted there.

Before the “Le Papier” presentation, the former Spice Girl appeared with Jacquemus in a new Instagram snap wearing an all-black ensemble that included an asymmetrical silk slip dress with pleated lace details and transparent panels over leggings. An enormous pair of sunglasses, a leather handbag, and a cropped matching jacket gave her look a sharp edge. With a white T-shirt, burnt orange cargo trousers, thick beige and brown hiking boots, and an off-white overshirt, Jacquemus created contrast with her outfit.

The former Spice Girl explained how she came up with the idea for her clutch purse, which has a thick gold chain inspired by the men’s watches she constantly wears (David gave her a special one when she received her OBE) and a multi-purpose strap to allow for hands-free comfort. “Chic” was the adjective she used frequently throughout her brief tour.

There was no denying that Beckham, in her more gothic interpretation of Dune-esque splendor, looked the most polished when compared to Simone Ashley and Jorja Smith, who served as the ideal poster girls for Jacquemus’s everlasting summer feel. Victoria succeeded in this exercise in self-promotion with the grace of a designer honoring her fellow artist and the guts of a businesswoman who wore her own creation to a Jacquemus event. Victoria and Simon both stopped adhering to the “rules” of fashion a while ago, and it now seems to be the perfect fit for them.

White, beige, and ivory were the main colors of Jacquemus’ “Le Papier” collection, with traces of black, light blue, and green. The line featured a variety of tulle veils, fitted pieces, and deconstructed suiting, all of which were inspired by the designer’s own impending wedding. Both men’s hefty suede and leather slip-on loafers and a variety of matching stiletto sandals for ladies with buckled straps and exaggerated spherical soles were highlighted on the footwear front. The presentation was notable for coming before Jacquemus’ first Nike collaboration, which debuted this morning and instantly caused the sports brand’s website to crash from more than 500,000 customers clamoring for items.
