Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visited Nigeria to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games, a global sporting event for wounded service members and women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They started their day in Abuja, the capital, with a visit to a school that has launched a mental health program led by the GEANCO Foundation. The couple was greeted by cheers and a dance by the students, and after some touching speeches, they joined the dancing. Later, they met with injured service members at a military hospital. On Saturday, they attended a training session for charity organization Nigeria: Unconquered and a reception hosted by the country’s Chief of Defence Staff. Later, Meghan cohosted an event for Women in Leadership with Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, director-general of the World Trade Organization. On Sunday, they attended a basketball clinic with Giants of Africa, a cultural reception, and a polo fundraiser for Nigeria: Unconquered. Meghan expressed her belief in the futures of the country’s youth and the ability to continue telling their stories and be honest with each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
