“We are literally in the future, and you can see that in our films,” says Nancy Isime to a full house at the high-end Nostalgia restaurant Lagos as the Scotch whisky brand, Glenfiddich, unveiled its custom limited edition sleeves in celebration of Nigeria’s independence on October 1st. Nancy went on to describe Nigeria as a lush and peaceful place, and yes, she was absolutely right, as attendees fully lived up to Nigeria’s stylist reputation, either in dressing or showing love for the country’s green, white, and green.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Isime setting the theme with a boxy Aso-Oke<\/a> blazer dress from Medlin Couture (topped off with a kitchy jacquemus bag and white pumps), she was joined by international musician Mr. Eazi and rapper MI who challenged the limits and pushed the boundaries of their respective fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hosted by Uwana Udabong, guests were awed by performances from African-themed dancers and also included poetry from Bash Amueni whicg preceded music from Efik Zara, Ypick, and DJ Gigi Jazmin. As the night went on the panel Mavericks discussed their dream of a Bold future for Nigeria, highlighting the country’s unconstrained international community and possibilities for development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Valerie Murzak’s fascinating mirror ball contortion performance and powerful afro-electronic music with Kah-lo’s hallmark rounded out the evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The guest list which included stars like Simi Drey, Ettim Effiong, Waje, Akah, Laycon, Bella and Sheggz, Tola Odunsi, Enado, Ozee Mbadiwe, Osi Suave and Denike Balogun saw attendees enjoying the Limited-Edition Collection of Glenfiddich 12YO, 15YO, and 18YO decanters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
