Tiwa Savage Is Taking Black To A New Level

Tiwa Savage’s enviable wardrobe (and her music) have swiftly made her one to draw fashion inspiration from. Dubbed “Queen of Afrobeats”, Tiwa has been consistently setting trends, from her music videos to her tour looks. Just recently, the international star has seemed to develop a flair for black, and we are here for it.

Styled by Shaped Services, when she performed at the AMVCA, the star emerged wearing a black bandage dress by The Uncommonist that featured a conical-themed bodice and a thigh-high slit with a tassel accent. She polished the look with white diesel boots and a black baker boy cap from Ruslan Baginskiy, the same brand responsible for Beyonce’s Renaissance World Tour hat look.

When it came Luisa ViaRoma & British Vogue fashion show where she sat front row, Tiwa ensured all eyes were on her in a vintage sheer dress by Dolce and Gabanna, finished off with Jimmy choo Satin Bag with crystal handle that retail for £1,395/820,386 NGN and louboutin heels.

For the Dior men’s summer show, Tiwa Savage showed up in not one but two Dior looks. The first one, though not completely black, featured a shearling jacket, culottes, and black pimps from Dior, which she completed with a Dior saddle bag and Amina Muadi pumps. It was her second look that truly embodied the black hue, with a power suit worn shirtless paired with matching shorts. Accessories included a series of matching rings, a layered necklace, and her go-to saddle bag.

When it came down to Christian Louboutin’s unveiling of the Astroloubi sneaker at Paris Fashion Week—showcasing a bold street-style silhouette inspired by ’90s basketball and skate sneakers—Tiwa Savage turned up the heat in a sheer organza gown. Partying all night with Amarae, the sheer design featured a hint of black lingerie underneath.

In Saudi Arabia, Tiwa wore another all-black ensemble, this time a Prada jumpsuit with a latex conical bodysuit from Atsuko Kudo Couture, sheer long sleeves, and chunky boots. Announcing her North America tour, she brought a similar energy, wearing an all-black look with long sleeves and leather shorts. But it was accessories that really upped the ante: Versace Medusa Biggie Pilot Sunglasses, Chanel Deauville Cloth Tote Bag, Rick Owens oblique leather over-the-knee boots, and tons of jewellery.

She then posted a story where she wore yet again another black number – a crew neck top and leather pants offering a fresh take on chic minimalism.

In Rwanda, she also had an all-black look, wearing a sheer long-sleeve glove top and miniskirt. With bold statement bracelets, Tiwa finished her Giants of Africa look with latex thigh-high boots. One thing is for sure: with her long, flowing hair and commanding voice, Tiwa definitely owns the color black.
