Each year the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) recognises outstanding achievements in television and film. First held in 2013 in Lagos, Nigeria entries into the award ceremony include films and TV series aired the previous year. The ninth edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards is set to begin on Thursday, May 18, 2023 with an ‘Opening Night and Cultural Day’ event to kick off the series of activities preceding the award night on Saturday, May 20.
Who is hosting?
Nancy Isime and Daniel Etim-Effiong are set to host the cultural day event. But there’s more – the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) also named IK Osakioduwa, a Nigerian media celebrity, as co-host of the 2023 edition. On the red carpet, media personalities Toke Makinwa, Uti Nwachukwu, Sika Osei, and VJ Adams will also be present. The awards’ organizers have also announced a second edition of the Digital Content Creators’ Day, which will include some of the top figures in the creative and entertainment industries conducting discussions about making the best of digital content production.
The event will look at the power of content creation, how creators may maximize and monetize their creativity, and how to stay relevant and long-lasting in the business.
It Is A 3-Day Event
The event will take place over three days, beginning with the Opening Night and Cultural Day, followed by the Digital Content Creators, Young Filmmakers Day, and the Runway Show/Nominee Gala the following day. The festivities will conclude with the Award Night.
