For ‘Sisi Girl’, Victor Anate’s piece offered a vintage feel to his capsule collection. Held at the Alára Lagos luxury concept store, the N°6 collection saw 15 demi-couture pieces on his stunning models walking down the stairs. Filled with feminine sophistication with daring silhouettes, luxurious fabrics, and exceptional craftsmanship, Anate wanted to defy traditional expectations.
“I was inspired by the lives of Southern Nigerian women who defy traditional expectations. Each piece has a certain unapologetic confidence which is my celebration of the VICNATE woman.”
From sequins, slinky silohuettes, long tailored jackets, draped accents, and cut-outs, Anate truly kept to his word. While this collection was far from casual, it was also far from formal. The sultry pieces would make one the centre of attraction in any given time of the day. Accessories included scarfs and statement necklaces but a standout was the show-stopping column necklace embellished with thousands of pearls pulled out from a 90’s fashion playbook.
Just this past month, he collaborated with Naomi Campell on a 70 piece collection featuring mesh minidresses, faux-fur coats, sleek pantsuits, and sparkling accessories for PrettyLittleThing. What can we say, the sky is just the begining for this designer.
